These reheat instructions apply to the La Cocina Community Food Boxes delivered on August 28th, 2020.

1. Bini’s Kitchen

Turkey Momos with Roasted Tomato Cilantro Sauce

Cabbage, carrots, and tofu in a hand-folded Nepali dumpling. Served with Bini’s signature spicy tomato sauce.

Allergen: Wheat, Soy

Instructions: Place in steamer 8-10 minutes. Keep frozen, use within 6 months.

3. D'Maize

Chicharron and Cheese Pupusa with Curtido Slaw

Salvadoran corn masa flatbreads stuffed with a delicious filling of Monterey cheese and chopped spinach.

Allergen: Dairy

Instructions: Place in microwave for 2-3 minutes; or transfer content to skillet and heat on low, 3 mins. Keep chilled or frozen. Use within 6 days after thaw.

Bean and Loroco Pupusa with Curtido Slaw

Beef slow-cooked in a spicy red sauce. Folded into corn masa. Wrapped in corn husks.

Allergen: Corn, Onion, Garlic, Pork Lard

Instructions: Steam or microwave for 4 - 5 minutes. Keep frozen. Use within 3 months.

Calabacitas en Salsa Rojo Tamales

Corn masa stuffed with summer zucchini in red chile sauce wrapped in corn husk

Allergen: Corn, Onion, Garlic, Pork Lard

Instructions: Steam or microwave for 4 - 5 minutes. Keep frozen. Use within 3 months.

5. Los Cilantros

Puerco Pozole Rojo

Mexican stew with hominy, pork, guajillo, ancho chiles, shredded cabbage, chile peppers, onion, and radishes

Allergen: None

Instructions: Reheat on the stove for 5 - 7 minutes. Keep refrigerated. Use within 5 days.

Hongo y Coliflor Pozole

Mexican stew with mushrooms, cauliflower,, guajillo, ancho chiles, shredded cabbage, chile peppers, onion, and radishes

Allergen: None

Instructions: Reheat on the stove for 5 - 7 minutes. Keep refrigerated. Use within 5 days.

6. Mama Lamees

Stuffed Grape Leaves

Grape leaves stuffed with rice and a variety of vegetables

Allergen: None

Instructions: Serve cold. Keep refrigerated, use within 5 days.

7. MexiQ

Mexiq Tequila Bbq Sauce

Smoked, sweet, tangy rich sauce with lime, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, tequila, and a spice blend.

Allergen: Worcestershire Sauce, Soy Sauce

Instructions: Refrigerate after opening.

8. Mission Boricua

Apple & Guava Empanadas

3 fried, sweet empanadas (1 apple, 2 guava) with cream cheese

Allergen: Dairy, Wheat

Instructions: Preheat skillet or deep fryer to 325. Cover empanadas in oil. Fry for 4 minutes, or until golden. Turn occasionally. Keep frozen, use within 1 month.

9. Teranga

Teranga Chicken Maafè

Senegalese peanut stew with chicken, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, baobab fruit pulp, moringa and tamarind with steamed brown rice.

Allergen: Peanuts

Instructions: Place in microwave for 3-5 minutes; or transfer content to stove and simmer on low, 5 mins. Keep refrigerated.Use within 5 days.

Teranga Maafè
