La Cocina Food Box | Reheat Instructions | 09-04-2020

These reheat instructions apply to the La Cocina Community Food Boxes delivered on September 4th, 2020.

1. Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement

Braised Collard Greens & Mac n Cheese

Braised collard greens & 3 Cheese Blend Mac

Allergen: Wheat, Dairy

Instructions: Place in microwave for 2-3 minutes; or place in oven 350F for 10 mins or until heated through 165F. Keep chilled. Use within 4 days

Herb Roasted Chicken + Mac & Cheese

Roasted Chicken with Herbs De Provence & 3 Cheese Blend Mac

Allergen: Wheat, Dairy

Instructions: Place in microwave for 2-3 minutes; or place in oven 350F for 10 mins or until heated through 165F . Keep chilled. Use within 4 days.

2. Mi Morena 

Calabacitas a La Mexicana Guisado Taco Kit

Sautéed squash with corn, tomatoes, onions & epazote herbs with corn tortillas and Mexican rice

Allergen: None

Instructions: Reheat Guisado (stew) + Rice: Microwave for 2-3 minutes; or transfer contents to stove and simmer on low, for 5-10 mins and stir constantly. Reheat tortillas: Cook tortillas on both sides for about 1 min on a griddle or skillet at Medium heat. Keep refrigerated. Use within 5 days.

Molida con Col Guisado Taco Kit

Ground beef stewed in a tomato/chipotle sauce with bacon, onions, cabbage, corn tortillas and Mexican rice.

Allergen: Pork

Instructions: Reheat Guisado (stew) + Rice: Microwave for 2-3 minutes; or transfer contents to stove and simmer on low, for 5-10 mins and stir constantly. Reheat tortillas: Cook tortillas on both sides for about 1 min on a griddle or skillet at Medium heat. Keep refrigerated. Use within 5 days.

3.  El Meson de Violeta

Spinach & Mushroom Empanadas

Baked savory turnover filled with spinach, mushrooms, shallots , ricotta cheese.

Allergen: Wheat, Egg

Instructions: Reheat: Thaw empanadas for two hours or overnight. Place in a preheated oven at 375F for 7 - 10 minutes. Keep frozen. 

Chicken Empanadas

Baked savory turnover with Mary's Farm chicken, caramelized onions, bell and poblano peppers.

Allergen: Wheat, Egg

Instructions: Reheat: Thaw Empanadas for two hours or overnight. Place in a preheated oven at 375 degrees F for 7 to 10 minutes. Keep frozen. 

4. Oyna Natural Foods

Vegetable & Turmeric Kuku

Herbs and veggie-packed Persian egg and chickpea frittata.  Served with a traditional Sabzi sauce.

Allergen: Tree nuts

Lemon Bars

Rich layer of lemon on top of a cookie crust

Allergen: Dairy, wheat, eggs

Instructions: Refrigerate after opening. Keep refrigerated. Use within 7 days. Freeze for longer shelf life.

6. 1000 Layer Bakery

 Almond & Cranberry Nougat

Sweet, chewy, tangy, and crunchy nougat.

Allergen: Wheat, soy, almond, dairy

Instructions: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 7 days.

7. Estrellita’s Snacks

Plantain Chips

Crispy green bananas lightly seasoned with sea salt.

Allergen: None

Instructions: See packaging for storage.

8. Pass the Sauced

Fire Roasted Mild Salsa

Slow-roasted organic Roma and Globe tomatoes, and a three-chile blend. Handmade in small batches.

Allergen: None

Instructions: Reheat: No reheating necessary. Perishable Keep refrigerated.

9.  The Uncreamery

Dill Havarti

Vegan almond based cheese alternative block

Allergen: nuts (almond, coconut)
