These reheat instructions apply to the La Cocina Community Food Boxes delivered on October 2nd, 2020.

1. La Guerrera’s Kitchen

Chicken Pozole Verde

Traditional Mexican soup served with corn chips, hot chili oil sauce, onion, chile serrano, lime, and radish.

Allergen: Garlic, onions

Reheating Instructions: Reheat on stove or in microwave for 5 minutes. Use within 5 days.

Vegan Pozole Verde

Traditional Mexican soup with chayote, mushroom & green bean. Served with corn chips, hot chili oil sauce, onion, chile serrano, lime, and radish.

Allergen: Garlic, onions

Reheating Instructions: Reheat on stove or in microwave for 5 minutes. Use within 5 days.

2. Mission Boricua

Pernil with Beans, Tostones, and Arroz con Gandules

Roasted pork with Puerto Rican rice, gandules, onions, bell peppers, potatoes and fried plantains.

Allergen: Garlic, onions

Reheating Instructions: Warm on the stove with olive oil. Keep frozen.  Use within 6 days after being thawed.

Puerto Rican-Spiced Vegetables with Beans, Tostones, and Arroz con Gandules

Roasted vegetables with Puerto Rican rice, gandules, onions, bell peppers, potatoes and fried plantains.

Allergen: Garlic, onions

Reheating Instructions: Warm on the stove with olive oil. Keep frozen.  Use within 6 days after being thawed.

3. Delicioso Creperie

Cubana Turnovers

Slow roasted pork, Swiss cheese, caramelized red onions, mustard, and pickles

Allergen: Dairy, wheat

Reheating Instructions: Thaw at room temperature for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 F. Bake for 25 minutes. Keep frozen.

Vegetarian Turnover

Flaky pastry filled with bottom mushrooms, baby spinach, scallions, bell peppers, and roasted corn.

Allergen: Dairy, wheat

Reheating Instructions: Thaw at room temperature for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 F. Bake for 25 minutes. Keep frozen.

4. Alicia’s Tamales de los Mayas

Carnitas Tamales

Tender pork stewed in spices with chipotle salsa

Allergen: None

Reheating Instructions: Steam for 10 - 12 minutes. Keep frozen.  Use within 6 days after being thawed.

Quesco Tamales

Oaxaca cheese, green pepper and salsa verde

Allergen: Dairy

Reheating Instructions: Steam for 10 -12 minutes. Keep chilled or frozen.  Use within 6 days after being thawed

5. Sweets Collection

Gelatina Mexicana

Edible flower art made with food-grade gelatine.

Allergen: Lactose, gelatin, artificial coloring

Keep chilled, use within 5 days.

Vanilla & Chocolate Cake Pops

Allergen: Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, Soy

Refrigerate if not consumed right away for up to 5 days

7. Sabores del Sur

Alfajores

 South American shortbread filled with dulce de leche and dusted with powdered sugar

Allergen: Egg, flour, dairy

Store in pantry. Avoid heat and direct sunlight.

8. Mixiote

Besitos de Nuez 

Soft, buttery pecan cookies with powdered sugar coating

Allergen: Tree nuts, gluten, and eggs

 Store in air-tight container.

9. Origen

Molé Negro Trail mix with Dandelion Cocoa Nib

Trail mix flavored with Oaxacan black mole and Dandelion chocolate. 

Allergen: Tree nuts, peanuts

Keep refrigerated. Use within 1 month.
